This year will mark the second, annual Shearon Farms Luminary illumination organized by the single family Outreach Committee. Feedback from the community proclaimed this to be an overwhelming success last year.
On the day of the event, a white paper bag with a wooden candle base and candle will be placed along your curb and at 6 PM we wish for all that desire to help, to light your respective bags and those of any neighbors not able to do so. This will enable the neighborhood to be illuminated as quickly as possible for all to enjoy the entire evening.
The next day, all bags, candles and bases will be collected. If you wish to clean up the luminaries yourself, please do not dispose of the bases. Please gather the bases for a committee member to collect near the end of your driveway, they are reusable. The paper bags can be recycled and candles can be kept for further use or thrown away. If you wish to help, in any capacity, please notify a member of the Outreach Committee from your respective street.
Special thank you to Veronica Brown, Cindy Paonessa, Danny Kozink, Rooney Weigel and Doug & Ramona Solomon for all of their help organizing the event!
(In the event of rainy weather, the evening of January 1, 2013 will be substituted)
